Last weekend ride of the month. It was nice to get the ride done today that I wanted to do yesterday. Weather was a bit overcast, but I can't complain about the temperature or winds at all.
Set out to do about 75 miles on the road bike this morning. Going up the Wabasso Bridge my chain broke and messed up my front derailleur. So I got a ride home and then took out the TT bike for a few hours. Spending a few hundred at the bike shop today is not what I had planned, but it's what I'm doing.
A really nice morning, clear and in the high 60's. It was a bit on the windy side, but you can only rarely have everything and if a little wind is what I have to deal with for warm weather I'll take it.
The fog was really low lying this morning and when I would go through a patch it was quite cold, but the non-foggy areas were warm. It was a pretty nice ride.
First ride of the new week. Last week of January too. Crazy how fast this month went, but that's how it goes. Kinda foggy this morning, but warmer. Not too bad at all.
South winds for the first time in ages. I took the opportunity to do the Skyline Drive route, which is always fun. While the "hills" aren't impressive by most people's standards I love Skyline Drive because it has a small little kick up to 14% gradient. Only takes like 15 seconds to get over it, but it is a damn wall. All in all, a pretty strong 70 mile spin.
Another week begins. It was in the 50's which wasn't too bad and there was no wind so relatively speaking I had nothing to complain about this morning.
Even colder this morning so I started later and it ended up being significantly warmer. Strange how that works out. Anyway, good to get a half century in on a Sunday before football.
Month 1/3rd over and I feel weird saying this is my first AM ride. Cold weather gear arriving today so I shouldn't be too put off by it anymore. The weather this morning was cold, but not nearly as bad as it has been.
Been uber cold in the mornings so I haven't ridden. Got out of work early today so I thought an afternoon ride on the Cervelo was in order. I thought right.
Took a nice half century spin up to Roseland and back. My legs felt great this morning, despite something like 13 straight days of training. Tomorrow is a rest day, which I'm looking forward to. Unfortunately I have to work and I'm not looking forward to that.
